Sechaba Kitleli

In 1997 , Peter Lotis invited me to present a programmme on 1485 Radio Today. I was delighted and it was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. I had no prior experience in broadcasting, but I was ready to pick it up as I went along.
I was born into a musical family and can remember my father’s grammaphone and a huge stack of 78 records. He and his friends used to play a lot of local music, but there was also music from artists such as Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Glen Miller and Ella Fitzgerald. These were the foundations of my musical legacy as I loved the melodies and sang them in my own way.

It has been a gratifying journey since 1997
and I still find it worthwhile.
