Liz King

Liz is currently recharging her batteries
and getting new ideas for her programme.
She can be heard standing in
for others away on vacation
on a Sunday morning .

  BACK

Liz King is quite a recent addition to Radio Today - she has only been a presenter for the last 18 months or so.
She is married to Mervyn, and has two married sons, and four grandchildren, and a black standard poodle.
She is very family orientated, a busy home executive and travels extensively.
She is a good cook and loves entertaining.
She loves music of most genres - except hard rock, radical jazz and hip-hop.
She has a soprano voice and sings in a choir, plays the piano - and is still learning - has been and still is active in charitable works, having only recently relinquished the position of patron to the Cystic Fibrosis Association after many years there.
She has recently learned to play bridge - and is very involved in her church - being a member of the church council.
She has many other interests including learning Italian, reading, gardening (she ran a landscaping business for some years), and of course, listening to music.
There do not seem to be enough hours in the day to get the many things done that occupy her time, she says.
She cares greatly for her family and friends and loves to help where necessary.
Above all, she is interested in life and feels privileged to be a part of this wonderful world.
She had two programmes - one on Sunday mornings between 10.30 and 11 a.m. called From My Terrace which was compiled around a topic, and the other on Thursday evenings from 8.30 to 9.30 called Shades of Evening, playing mostly well known classical or popular music and talking about the composers and/or artists. She also fills in for other presenters where necessary, and is often heard on Sunday mornings as a stand in for Clair Marshall.
The Thursday evening programmes are having a rest at the moment in order for her to get some fresh ideas, and as the Sunday programme format has changed - From My Terrace - has fallen away for now.
Her voice may be heard in several advertisements and she really enjoys working on radio 1485, Radio Today.
