Raconteur, newspaper columnist and restaurant critic, Gwynne has a passion
for culinary wanderings through the cities as well as some of the most
remote parts of South Africa.
Gauteng-based Gwynne Conlyn is an award winning writer. Her work –exclusively
food, wine and travel-focused – has appeared in most of South
Africa’s prominent newspapers and magazines. Presently she is
columnist for Style magazine (Gastro Politics). She also does restaurant
reviews for Style as well as WINE magazine.
She is also a popular public speaker, regaling audiences with stories
of her culinary travels.
As competition judge she has evaluated chefs’ competitions.
She is also a judge in the prestigious PICA competitions, which evaluates
excellence in publishing.
She has been an independent media personality since 1994, with work
including that of Regional Editor for the Eat Out restaurant guide,
and senior contributor to Wine Magazine’s ‘Top 100 Restaurants’.
